Outstanding Expenditure of U.S. Bailout Funds:

Approximately $489 Billion!
How that relates to you:
There are approximately 135 million (135,000,000) income tax filers in the United States (married filing jointly counts as 1 filer).As it now stands, if the Federal Government had sent tax filers a check instead of giving it to corporate America, every tax filer in the United States would have received approximately 3,623.00!
In Perspective:
How does such a huge number relate to the American people;
how could
U.S. businesses need almost $4,000.00 per taxpayer to survive?
How can that possibly add up?
Why Is The Number Going Down?
Many banks are repaying their bailout funds, and that information is easily available.
However, numbers for newer programs such as Making Home Affordable and the Small Business and Community
Lending Initiative are not yet available or reliable. So the number appears to be decreasing when in fact it may be increasing.
